Work since 9/21

Since the last couple of weeks, research has been done to compare what is the best method to assemble the quarter scale rail. The considerations that have been taken involve cost, materials, ease of manufacturability, ease of assembly and disassembly and track layout has been thought about as well. First, it was decided that we have two options for a track, a complete loop track and open ended track. Then we thought about the materials to be used, either construction wood or rolled steel were options. Both are viable options, however we would like to go with metal steel studs just like the full scale version. The autocadd drawings of the full and twelfth scale versions were observed and we can get an idea of how big to make the rail. We would like to make a 20'x10' with 5' radius turns complete guideway or a 20' open ended track. My goals for this week is to get exact measurements for the cross section, railways, and supports for the quarter scale. As well as a bill of materials ready.

Other work that was completed was preparing for our first presentation. Research was done to see how we can make a guideway by seeing what is being done, and has been done.
